SAFE operates on donations and a pay as you go policy. Since we are not out to make a profit all the money we collect goes right back into continuing to fund other SAFE events. There are no dues to pay so come on out, join us and make some new friends!
We, the members of Size Acceptance for Empowerment, offer a place where men and women of all sizes can enjoy a size friendly atmosphere. We are accepting of ourselves and others and we celebrate our individuality as well as our diversities. We are proud men and women who are breaking down the barriers of the “thin is in” mantra and allowing our bodies and our spirits the freedoms we deserve. We foster wellness in our minds, hearts, and our bodies and help empower others to do the same.
Together we have created a community where we are free to express ourselves through art, music, movement and thought. We are joined by our spouses, partners, friends, and our loved ones who share with us the idea that you don't have to be some magic size to enjoy life. We live, we love, and we laugh in the moment.
Events
Our group offers gatherings, outings, and retreats for men and women of all sizes and abilities. Occasionally, we hold events that are for women only. But for the most part our events are open to both men and women. We focus on encouraging physical activity, being healthy in mind, body, and spirit. We do this by mingling and sharing our experiences with one another. We genuinely enjoy the ability and freedom of being together whether it is in the pool splashing around or just out socializing.
All members are invited to participate in planning and organizing events. We all have talents we can share and which will be appreciated. Our group survives on volunteers and we can always use a hand or two!
